The Platinum Trust of South Africa ("PJTSA") was formed in 2003 to address the beneficiation opportunities within the platinum group metals mining environment in South Africa.
The Trustees of PTSA have positioned themselves to assist stakeholders in achieving value addition by facilitating the necessary partnerships so that such ventures can be implemented.
The PTSA has created two companies for its jewellery business.
The World of Platinum will market and sale a branded range of jewellery under the DJADJI PLATINUM brand.
The second company has established a platinum jewellery manufacturing facility. This facility, the SEDA Platinum Incubator will focus on the training of local citizens with the objective of training them sufficiently in order to manufacture product under the Djadji Platinum brand and marketed by the World of Platinum,
The mandate of the trust will be to expand into other areas of beneficiation aimed at addressing the socio-economic challenges facing South Africa and in a small way assisting to move to a more value addition economy.
To this end skills transfer to and upliftment of historically disadvantaged South Africans are key elements.
